#Inktober Gallery

This year I took on the inktober challenge (one ink drawing a day for each day in October, posted to Instagram or other social media sites) along with artists around the world.

Take a look at www.inktober.com to see what it’s all about, and check out my own gallery of fresh ink drawings :). Click here or see the Sketchbook tab.

Some of these are available as prints at http://society6.com/sydniart/prints :).

Children’s Book Illustration

Steadily getting accustomed to illustrating for children’s books :). Here’s a glimpse:

Just as a reminder, the illustrations I’ve been posting are client work which I’m permitted to show as portfolio pieces. I’m not writing these stories myself.

BearChaseStory
Final painting – Color and final detail painted digitally in Photoshop

As you can see, this story involves a bear chase and (in case you’re worried) has a happy ending.

11th Doctor – Famous Faces

Two portraits of Matt Smith from Doctor Who. This is my fanart contribution to the bittersweet knowledge of his impending regeneration. Each is a 5″x7″ graphite drawing.

I worked on the first drawing for 3 nights in a row, got frustrated, and started making more furious and scribbly marks. I call it ‘raggedy-pencil’ style. I meant to add a fez to the second one, ah well. :-)
